When insurance plans change each year, it’s not uncommon for patients to discover that their copays go up. The annual change in benefits will often result in changes to how much an insured patient needs to pay out-of-pocket for their prescription medications.

Beat Your Copay. A Quick-start Guide, from “ScriptSave University”

If your copay has risen, check to see if you can save money by using ScriptSave WellRx instead of your health plan. The ScriptSave WellRx website makes it fast, easy and FREE to get a “second opinion” on any copay or other out-of-pocket cost that you face for prescriptions.

Save Money by Paying Cash

We negotiate discounted cash prices on most prescription medications, at almost every retail pharmacy in the U.S. Furthermore, we publish all these prices on our website and we make it EASY to search for your exact medication … all at no cost (and with NO NEED FOR ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION).

How to Price-check Your Copay for Possible Savings

  1. Visit the ScriptSave WellRx website at wellrx.com.
  2. Enter the name or your drug (in the box labeled, “Search Medication”).
    • NOTE: Enter the drug name ONLY (i.e. do NOT include any details about strength, quantity, form, etc.).
    • HINT: if you’re not sure on the spelling of your drug name, type it S-L-O-W-L-Y into the box. So long as you can get the first 3 letters correct, our website will make automatic suggestions to help you find what you’re looking for.
  3. Enter your zip code in the Location box.
  4. Click the button labeled, “Find Lowest Price”

Once the results screen loads, you’ll see the various prices we’ve negotiated at the pharmacies around your zip code, for the most commonly prescribed version of the drug you searched for.

Look towards the top of the results screen and you’ll see the default selections for Brand/Generic; Drug Form (i.e. tablets, capsules, cream, ointment, etc.); Dosage; and Quantity. The default settings reflect the most commonly dispensed version of the medication you searched for … but you CAN edit them manually from this screen, if you need to.
