CALCIUM CARBONATE (KAL see um KAR bon ate) treats occasional heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, or other conditions caused by too much stomach acid. It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach. It belongs to a group of medications called antacids. It may also be used to increase calcium levels in your body. Calcium is a mineral that plays an important role in building strong bones and maintaining heart health.

  • Praziquantel 600mg, Oral tablet

    Interaction: Grapefruit juice
    Severity: Moderate
    Notes for Consumers: In general, most foods are safe to take with Praziquantel and in fact, the drug should be taken with some liquid along with a meal for best effect. Grapefruit juice may increase the effects of Praziquantel by increasing the blood levels of Praziquantel. Although an interaction with grapefruit juice is possible, the interaction is not necessarily a harmful one. Since there is limited data about this interaction however, try to keep your grapefruit juice intake steady while taking Praziquantel. If you regularly drink grapefruit juice in large amounts, notify your prescriber if you note any new or worsening potential Praziquantel side effects, like generally not feeling well, headache, dizziness, or abdomen discomfort with or without nausea.
    Notes for Professionals: Coadministration of grapefruit juice with praziquantel has been reported to increase blood levels and AUC of praziquantel, which may be advantageous in the treatment of various parasitic infections. However, more study is needed to determine if this interaction is beneficial or harmful.
