PROPARACAINE (proe PAR a kane) prevents or treats pain, including during a procedure. It numbs the area where it is applied, which blocks your nerves from sending pain signals to your brain. It belongs to a group of medications called local anesthetics.
This medicine may be used for other purposes; ask your health care provider or pharmacist if you have questions.

This medication is for use in the eye. It is given by your care team in a hospital or clinic setting.
Talk to your care team about the use of this medication in children. While it may be given to children for selected conditions, precautions do apply.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.
NOTE: This medicine is only for you. Do not share this medicine with others.

Interactions are not expected. Do not use any other eye products without talking to your care team.

Do not touch, wipe, or rub your eyes after this medication is applied. You could hurt the eye without feeling it. Do not put contact lenses in your eyes until the effect of this medication has worn off.
Tell your care team right away if you have any change in your eyesight.

Side effects that you should report to your care team as soon as possible:
-Allergic reactions—skin rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
-Eye pain, redness, irritation, or discharge with blurry or decreased vision
Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report these to your care team if they continue or are bothersome):
-Burning or stinging of the eyes after use
