    Interaction: Grapefruit juice
    Severity: Major
    Notes for Consumers: Do not drink grapefruit juice or eat grapefruit while taking this medication. Grapefruit may alter the effects of your medication. Serious side effects may occur. Contact your care team right away if you experience new or worsening side effects.
    Notes for Professionals: Advise patients to avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice during progesterone treatment due to the risk for increased progesterone exposure and adverse reactions. Progesterone is a CYP3A substrate and grapefruit juice is a CYP3A inhibitor. Vaginal preparations of progesterone are not expected to interact.

    Notes for Consumers: In general, there are no food interactions of concern. Progesterone capsules are often taken with food, but do not need to be taken with food.
