NAFARELIN (naf A re lin) treats the symptoms of endometriosis. It works by decreasing the amount of estrogen your body makes, which reduces heavy bleeding and pain. It may also be used to treat a condition that causes early puberty. It works by decreasing levels of the hormones estrogen and testosterone in the body. This slows or stops signs of puberty while you are taking this medication.
This medicine may be used for other purposes; ask your health care provider or pharmacist if you have questions.

This medication is for use in the nose. Use it as directed on the prescription label at the same time every day. Do not use it more often than directed. Make sure that you are using your nasal spray correctly. Ask your care team if you have any questions.
A special MedGuide will be given to you by the pharmacist with each prescription and refill. Be sure to read this information carefully each time.
Talk to your care team about the use of this medication in children. Special care may be needed.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.

This list may not describe all possible interactions. Give your health care provider a list of all the medicines, herbs, non-prescription drugs, or dietary supplements you use. Also tell them if you smoke, drink alcohol, or use illegal drugs. Some items may interact with your medicine.

Visit your care team for regular checks on your progress. Your symptoms may get worse for a short time after starting this medication. Talk to your care team if your symptoms do not get better.
Using this medication for a long time may weaken your bones. The risk of bone fractures may be increased. Talk to your care team about your bone health.
If you use a decongestant nose spray, wait for 2 hours after using this medication to use the decongestant spray.
Use a non-hormonal method of contraception while taking this medication. If you think you might be pregnant, call your care team.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

Side effects that you should report to your care team as soon as possible:
-Allergic reactions—skin rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
-Increased pressure around the brain—severe headache, blurry vision, change in vision, nausea, vomiting
-Rapid or extreme change in emotion or mood
-Rash, fever, and swollen lymph nodes
-Redness, blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin, including inside the mouth
-Seizures
-Worsening mood, feelings of depression
Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report these to your care team if they continue or are bothersome):
-Acne
-Body odor
-Change in sex drive or performance
-Hot flashes
-Irregular menstrual cycles or spotting
-Runny or stuffy nose
-Unexpected breast tissue growth

Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F). Store bottle right side up. Protect from light. Get rid of any unused medication after the expiration date.
To get rid of medications that are no longer wanted or have expired:
-Take the medication to a medication take-back program. Ask your pharmacy or law enforcement to find a location.
-If you cannot return the medication, ask your pharmacist or care team how to get rid of the medication safely.
