It works by relaxing the muscles in your digestive tract and bladder. It also reduces the amount of sweat, saliva, and stomach acid your body makes. It belongs to a group of medications called antispasmodics.

    • Interaction: Grapefruit juice
    • Severity: Major
    • Notes for Consumers: Do not drink grapefruit juice or eat grapefruit while taking this medication. Grapefruit may alter the effects of your medication. Serious side effects may occur. Contact your care team right away if you experience new or worsening side effects.
    • Notes for Professionals: Advise patients to avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice during ubrogepant treatment due to the risk for increased ubrogepant exposure and adverse reactions. Ubrogepant is a CYP3A substrate and grapefruit juice is a CYP3A inhibitor.
