It works by reducing pain, fever, and cough. It also decreases a runny or stuffy nose and loosens mucus. It is a combination of acetaminophen, a cough suppressant, a decongestant, and an expectorant.

    Notes for Consumers: Do not drink alcohol while taking this medication. Drinking alcohol while taking this medication increases the risk for dangerously low blood pressure. Contact your care team right away if you experience dizziness, feeling faint or lightheaded, or blurry vision.
    Notes for Professionals: Advise patients to avoid alcohol while taking thiazide diuretics. Ingesting alcohol can increase the risk for orthostatic hypotension when taking a thiazide diuretic.
