    Notes for Consumers: Discuss cannabis use with your care team. The effects of your medication may be altered if used with cannabis.
    Notes for Professionals: Advise patients to avoid cannabis use during lidocaine treatment due to decreased exposure of lidocaine which may alter its efficacy. Cannabis use induces CYP1A2 and lidocaine is a CYP1A2 substrate. The induction potential of cannabis is greatest with chronic inhalation. Other routes of administration or sporadic use may have less of an effect.

    Notes for Consumers: Do not drink grapefruit juice or eat grapefruit while taking this medication. Grapefruit may alter the effects of your medication. Serious side effects may occur. Contact your care team right away if you experience new or worsening side effects.
    Notes for Professionals: Advise patients to avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice during lidocaine treatment due to the risk for increased lidocaine exposure and adverse reactions. Lidocaine is a CYP3A substrate and grapefruit juice is a CYP3A inhibitor.

    Interaction: Caffeine-containing Foods/Beverages
    Severity: Moderate
    Notes for Consumers: Limit excessive Caffeine intake (examples: coffee, teas, colas, chocolate and some herbal supplements) while taking Epinephrine and avoid medicines containing additional Caffeine whenever possible. Taking a high amount of Caffeine with Epinephrine can increase the risk of nausea, nervousness, palpitations, problems with sleep, rapid heartbeat, or other side effects.
    Notes for Professionals: Caffeine is a CNS-stimulant and such actions are expected to be additive when coadministered with other CNS stimulants or psychostimulants.
