ACETAMINOPHEN; CHLORPHENIRAMINE; DEXTROMETHORPHAN; PHENYLEPHRINE (a SEET a MIN oh fen; klor fen IR a meen; dex troe meth OR fan; fen il EF rin) treats the symptoms of the common cold, allergies, or flu. It works by reducing pain, fever, cough, and red, itchy eyes. It also decreases a runny or stuffy nose. It is a combination of acetaminophen, an antihistamine, a cough suppressant, and a decongestant.

    Severity: Major
    Notes for Consumers: Avoid taking Disopyramide with grapefruit juice. Grapefruit juice and grapefruit-containing foods may increase the chance of side effects due to Disopyramide. Contact your prescriber immediately if you experience chest pain, dizziness, fainting or falling spells, palpitations, shortness of breath, or a change in your usual heart beat (fast, slow, or irregular heart beat) while taking Disopyramide.
    Notes for Professionals: CYP3A4 inhibitors, such as grapefruit juice, may increase serum plasma concentrations of disopyramide. Caution should be used with this combination; monitor clinical response and serum disopyramide concentrations.
