ADALIMUMAB (ay da LIM yoo mab) treats autoimmune conditions, such as psoriasis, arthritis, Crohn disease, and ulcerative colitis. It works by slowing down an overactive immune system.  It may also be used to treat hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). HS is a condition that causes painful lumps under the skin in areas such as the armpits and groin. It belongs to a group of medications called TNF inhibitors. It is a monoclonal antibody.

    • Interaction: Alcohol
    • Severity: Major
    • Notes for Consumers: Do not drink alcohol while taking this medication. Drinking alcohol while taking this medication increases the risk for serious side effects. Contact your care team if you experience new or worsening side effects.
    • Notes for Professionals: Advise patients to avoid alcohol consumption while taking citalopram. Alcohol intolerance has been reported in patients receiving citalopram.
  • Citalopram Hydrobromide 20mg, Oral tablet

    • Interaction: Grapefruit juice
    • Severity: Major
    • Notes for Consumers: Do not drink grapefruit juice or eat grapefruit while taking this medication. Grapefruit may alter the effects of your medication. Serious side effects may occur. Contact your care team right away if you experience new or worsening side effects.
    • Notes for Professionals: Advise patients to avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice during citalopram treatment due to the risk for increased citalopram exposure and adverse reactions. Citalopram is a CYP2C19 substrate and grapefruit juice is a CYP2C19 inhibitor.
